JOIN THE REVOLUTION

Kelly and Sara began teaching this format of yoga to inmates 3 years ago. Over this period of time they began noticing a huge increase in the jail population class attendance. The teachers received compelling feedback that stated it was not just the physical practice, but also studying and applying the 8 limbs that had profoundly impacted the inmate’s lives. It was this realization that inspired Kelly and Sara to develop Journey Yoga in order to bring this ancient wisdom and science to the general public.

With a combination of 23 practicing years, and over 10 years of teaching, Kelly and Sara will be guiding you through a deeper study of your soul. Both teachers have vowed to walk this walk and practice what they teach with the highest integrity.

Raja Yoga, (the royal path) was outlined in the classical Yoga Sutras by Patanjali more than 2500 years ago. It gives an exact road map to acquiring freedom, liberation, and bliss.

Within the Yoga Sutras are what some call The Eight Limbs of Yoga. These 8 limbs are what will be the focus of our 10 week study. These will be broken down into 3 sessions.

Kelly Kjos

Kelly attended her first yoga class in 2002. In 2011 she vowed to practicing daily. Within a few months she noticed drastic changes in both her body and mind.

Kelly attended Urban Yoga’s 200 hour teacher training program in March of 2014. This initial training sparked the fire of desire to keep practicing, studying, and open to gaining more experiences and knowledge. Since then, she has completed Bryan Kest’s Power Yoga Training, Off the Mat into the Word, Trauma Informed Prison Yoga Project certification with James Fox, and she obtained her 300 hour advanced Tantric Hatha & Meditation Intensive from Zuna Yoga in Bali, Indonesia.

She has taught many styles of yoga including power vinyasa, yin, restorative, hatha, tantric hatha, yoga nidra, and meditation. Her focus is in teaching those with special needs, incarcerated men and women, and to people in addiction recovery.

The practice has taught her how to live with more grace, ease and gratitude. She is passionate about sharing her love of and experience with yoga and meditation to anyone willing to try it and simply do their best. These practices have allowed her to completely reshape her life from one of misery and addiction to one of joy and freedom.

Kelly strives to teach in a manner that empowers students to find their own inner guru, strength and power. It is her aim to guide you through these practices so that you can discover your best life that is authentic to you.

Sara “Gypsy” Wolf

Born in Casper, WY, Sara has lived in multiple states and countries, including CO, CA, Costa Rica, and Colombia. She now resides in Phoenix, AZ. She discovered yoga in 2005, and received her Yoga Teachers Certification in 2014 through The Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, CA. The practices she uses today helped her to navigate the passing of her Mom due to Cancer, as well as addiction, co-dependency, abuse, self-sabotage, childhood trauma, rejection, unworthiness, depression and fear. In September of 2015, she sold everything to travel for 8 months and continue her yoga study as a nomad.

In addition, Sara was led through a very intense healing program, with the help of her first mentor. Her personal transformation through this program led her to become a Certified Healing/Spiritual Mentor so that she can share with others the gifts that have been given to her. Always guided by her strong intuition, Sara knows that teaching and healing/mentoring work are her true passions and life’s calling.

The road she has traveled as well as her personal healing work, solidifies this calling. She exudes very strong, loving energy and has a deep connection with the spiritual world and nature. She loves to practice and teach all limbs/branches of yoga, especially meditation.
